Besides food the Thurmont Ministerium helps with the following programs through the Food Bank
Gas Vouchers
The Food Bank has a limited number of gas vouchers to be used at the Direct to You Gas Station on Church Street. These vouchers are to be used for medical appointments. Bring proof of an appointment and ask for a voucher when our registrar checks you in.
Short Term Emergency Lodging
The Ministerium works with local hotels and the Town of Thurmont to provide emergency overnight lodging when the weather is bad. Contact by Email: thethurmontfoodbank.com
Personal Supplies

Infants and Toddlers
Whenever possible we provide: diapers, pull-ups, baby food, formula, diaper wipes

Adult Health & Hygiene
We provide a limited supply of adult pull ups ( Depends), incontinence bed pads, sanitary napkins and tampons, shampoo, deodorant, soap

Cleaning Products
Cleaning items such as cleansers, detergent, bathroom cleaners, etc. are provided when possible.
Holiday Gifts
Christmas Gifts are distributed to a limited number of registered food bank families through the generosity of the churches of the Ministerium. Registration starts in late October and closes the first week of December.
Thanksgiving Turkeys and side dish ingredients are distributed to those registered at the Thurmont Food Bank during the two weeks prior to Thanksgiving.
Holiday Foods: Whenever possible we try to provide ingredients for special meals at Easter, Christmas
Gifts and Goody Bags are distributed on various holidays through the generosity of several churches.
